BUILDING REPORT - SEPTEMBER

Parking Lots  

As reported last month, all of the paving of parking lots has been completed. We also finished the chat parking lot in front of the new middle school just prior to the beginning of school. The maintenance department has continued to work on it even after school started by adding additional chat and to pack and improve it. We plan to use this parking lot this school year and pave it next summer. 

Playgrounds  

We have also had to do some additional work on playgrounds at University Heights Elementary, Nettleton Middle School, and FMIC.  At University Heights we have to add more chat and a foot bridge.  An improvement to the Middle School playground was necessary to accommodate the pre-school children. We had to add more fencing, add new equipment, modify and repair some of the other equipment, and add additional chat to meet safety requirements.  At the FMIC playground a fence was moved and reinstalled so a turn-around could be built. Additional work will continue on all playgrounds to meet the safety needs of children. 

Maintenance  

Maintenance has continued to work hard to maintain the grounds and keep our buildings running smoothly.  Our new state-required work order system is up and running.  We will meet all the state requirements concerning maintenance records and preventative maintenance dead lines.
