Welcome to Fox Meadow Intermediate Center!

My name is Debra Johnson and I am proud to be the principal at Fox Meadow Intermediate Center. Fox Meadow Intermediate Center is home to third, fourth, and fifth grade students. 

We will be moving to Common Core this year. This will be a very exciting year for our students and teachers. Common Core will focus on building a foundation in number sense. Students will use this deep understanding to solve real world problems. Our reading will be more complex. The students will be reading more nonfiction books. The students will read more content area texts. We will also be developing argumentative writers that can defend their essays with research.

This is my nineteenth year in education. I have taught first, fourth, and sixth grade, directed a preschool, and I have been the Dean of Students. My heart lies in middle level education.

On a personal note, I have been married to Tony for eighteen years. We have one son, Gage, who is ten years old. I love teaching, spending time with my family, and going to the lake.
